During this year 30th Athens Classic Marathon event, it is anticipated that more than 30,000 runners will participate in all road races of the event. It should also be noted that apart from its 30th anniversary, the Athens Classic Marathon celebrates this year the 100 years anniversary from the birth year of the world known pacifist Grigoris Lambrakis, to whom the entire event is dedicated.
Furthemore, we should stress the fact that AIMS, the International Association of Marathon and Distance Running, has moved its headquarters in Athens and it is now hosted in the Athens Olympic Sports Complex, on Spyros Louis Avenue. It is a more of symblolic decision, especially this year that AIMS also celebrates its 30 years anniversary.
